Not having lived in England but in Europe and only visited the island I am excited but also have my concerns of fitting in and living. Having read some threads on "studentroom" which I would recommend for UK students and others which is a "huge" forum about everything like school, beauty, advice etc.etc.etc. Check it out here...
Anyway, after watching also some funny and enlightening YouTube videos of something called the "freshers week" that UK universities have as being the first week for everyone to get to know each other and bond with various activities held over the day and of course the extensive nightlife involved, this showed me that I will encounter a lot of unknown territory and things as a foreigner!
It would be interesting to hear your tips, tricks, advice or other stuff that when going to study at an english university what the first year of undergraduates is like and was for you:)
>>>>What would especially interest me is for the artsy people out there that study an art degree what you did, and if you went crazy like the other kids I saw in the videos of partying or did something different. How was it with finding friends etc.etc.etc.
Would love to hear your comments below, since I start in September as a "fresher" :)...

My Wish Item - Natural Beauty Book by James Houston
What I find so breath-taking and beautiful are not only the sensual and sculptural pictures displaying the models representing or portraying nature elements but also the message of the photographer. Which is that he wants for people to appreciate and value nature's beauty more that he captures so harmoniously in each photo.
Artists that combine art and nature interests me very much and in this case I was intrigued by the way James Houston, the photographer, combined this combination so eloquently. That is why I want to buy the book and see the whole range of photos he did that are not all shown in the videos. Additionally, when buying the book the proceeds supports Global Green USA which is great.
If you want to read more into James Houston, his work or the Natural Beauty Book click here. And to see more of the photos from the Natural Beauty Book click here. To buy the book you can click here.

To all NATURE fans: "Naturopolis" on arte
Yesterday on German television came a great documentary on New York of possibilities how the city will be made more greener, more environmental friendly and the citizens brought closer to nature called "Natuopolis" on arte at 20:15.
I was in New York two years ago during the summer and could not oversee the dirt, filth, pollution and noise, wondering how people can stand to live here let alone any kind of animals. The documentary called "Naturopolis" meaning natural metropolis was very eye-opening. It showcased the city in a different light such as what has been done like introducing urban gardening, helping the flora and fauna of this place to regenerate or the future colossal greener efficient buildings in planning to self support the city which sounded very exciting mentioned in the 90min. film. I am a great believer in trying to help the environment and get more in touch with nature that so many of us have lost and is essential for us which I encourage all of you.
I highly recommend this documentary which I found very educating not only about the wildlife and nature in New York and an insightful future prognosis of what is in plan, but also learning a bit about the creation and history of this massive city.
If you missed the documentary "Naturopolis" on arte you can click here to watch it online.
It will also be repeated on television on arte, Saturday 24.04.2013 at 15:15.

#1. Art Experiment w/ Acrylic Ink
Since I am so intrigued in experimenting with different materials and art techniques, lately I have taken upon trying out art pieces with acrylic ink. Having in mind that this was my first attempt in using these materials I am quite pleased with the outcome. However, with more practice and further experimentation I am determined to make my future art pieces even more intricate and remarkable. It is so amusing watching the ink take its shape and letting the magic happen with the combination of the ink, water and colors, which I find fascinating. With this material you really do not have to think a lot or have to be good in art, however the process can be quite messy. So great for everyone! It intrigues me that you never know how the art piece will end up looking because of the process being so spontaneous. Also, what I find great is that if you are not sure how to use it, or with other art materials and techniques, I always find guidance and inspiration on art forums or YouTube.
Here are some paintings that I tried the acrylic paint on:
If you guys want to see a step-by-step tutorial how I use Acrylic Ink let me know in the comments. I could also do different tutorials such as how to make a cast, or show you other techniques with acrylics.
I am also very interested if you have an art blog, diy (do it yourself) blogs or even blogs that you follow of this kind that you could leave me behind in the comments to look at.

My first Art Vernissage (+ Newspaper clipping)
********************************************************************************
Wow, what a turn out! The graduating art class presented their art works in a small local museum in Dreieich on Thursday, 21. March, 2013 and we were so thrilled of how many people turned up. Everybody had their own corner where they presented their art projects. All of the art pieces you saw in my previous post were in the museum like the sculpture collection and the mountains. I had mixed feelings, because what if people would not come to my corner and make me feel awkward all alone or worse not like what I have done. Luckily my concerns were all banished when so many found interest in my art and wanted to find out more about me, my journey with the pieces and what I tried to convey in them. With the Vernissage coming to an end, I talked so much that I felt I was loosing my voice! Choosing the path of being an artist, I know will not be easy, but given this unique chance of proving yourself as a young artist into the public was very exciting.

My Art Pieces from 2012-2013
I am graduating this year from high school and in the curriculum of Art we had to create art pieces around a core theme with sub themes. I chose manipulation of materials and surfaces to be the theme that I concentrated on over the two years.
It interests me what your opinions are on my works so I welcome you to leave comments down below. Also, let me know if you want more detailed explanations of what materials and background information on each piece you want since this is the first time I posting something like this.
Here are just some of my final art project pieces:
